On December 15 local time of Brazil, the ceremony of signing convertor station EPC Contract of ±800kV UHVDC Transmission Project Phase II for Brazil's Belo Monte Hydropower Plant was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. China Electronic Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CET) and the Owner signed EPC Contract of ±800kV UHVDC Transmission Project Phase II for Brazil's Belo Monte Hydropower Plant.

Brazil's Belo Monte Phase II Project is the first overseas UHVDC transmission project of which the construction and operation is in the sole charge of State Grid, and it is an important milestone for China's UHV technology, equipment and EPC contract to "go global".

As agreed by the contract, CET will provide convertor station, grounding electrode and auxiliary project construction and service for Brazil's Belo Monte Phase II Project in EPC mode, which can remarkably stimulate the export of China's electric power equipment and service with independent intellectual property.
