Publication Date:2017-01-10

On December 31, 2016 (local time), IB Section of New Lahore 500 kV Transmission Line, Pakistan, under the construction of CET, was connected to grid and came on stream. This marks the 500 kV section has been successfully handed over to the Owner.

Located in the outskirt of Lahore, the 151 km-Transmission Line Corridor is composed of 500 kV double-circuit line on the same tower and 220 kV double-circuit line on the same tower. As the second 500 kV line undertaken by CET in Pakistan, its successful operation will help relieve the increasing pressure of power supply on Lahore and even the whole Punjab, and set a model for power cooperation along China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road.
