Brazilian Partner Investigates UHV Engineering Construction Standards in China

Publication Date:2017-06-21

At the invitation of CET, a delegation of Brazil came to China to investigate SGCC’s UHV transmission technology and engineering construction standards and have technical exchanges with China’s experts in DC and civil design on June 12-16.

The delegation is composed of 10 representatives from ZOPONE and SENDI, construction units of Belo Monte II; CPC, the supplier and construction unit; and SISTEMA PRI, the supervisor. The delegation comprehensively understood the overall layout and management of safe and civilized construction and inspected and learnt construction technology and quality through investigations into Tongli ±800 kV converter station and Guquan 1,100 kV converter station.

CET has always attached great importance to partnership. Brazil is an important partner of China and also one of CET’s strategic markets. Belo Monte Hydropower ±800 kV UHV DC Transmission Phase II is the first EPC project independently conducted by SGCC at abroad. After completion, the project will bridge the UHV line of Brazil from south to north, laying a solid foundation for grid interconnection between South America and North America. Its construction is expected to start at the end of June.
